• Swim Teams Set Nine New Team Records Over the Weekend at Metropolitan Swimming Collegiate Championships

    NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Six members of The College of New Rochelle Blue Angels swim team competed at the Metropolitan Swimming Collegiate Championships this past weekend. The meet saw nine team records, 11 personal best times, 17 season's best times, and one Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference qualifying time achieved.

    NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Hitting a sweltering 69 points in the tournament, The College of New Rochelle sophomore Dar'Neisha Brice (California, MD, Great Mills High School) was named 2018 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player, leading the No. 2 seed Blue Angels to the 2018 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship with a 77-65 victory over top-seeded Davis College. Brice was also recognized as an HVIAC All-Conference Selection for the 2017-18 Season.

    NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Saturday evening began with three Blue Angels honored as members of the All-Conference team: Elijah Harris (Flushing, NY, Holy Cross High School), Hunter Schenkel (Sayville, NY, Sayville High School), and Jaylin Gray (Brooklyn, NY, Nazareth Regional High School). The night ended with the team advancing to their second consecutive title game in their second year of existence as they defeated the Panthers of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 84-66.

    NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament kicked off Saturday at the Wellness Center at The College of New Rochelle. The Blue Angels were the second semi-final of the day at 3:00 PM against the Berkeley College Knights. New Rochelle pulled out an exciting win in an overtime thriller with a final score of 78-77.

    NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Blue Angels swim teams will compete at the Metropolitan Conference Swimming and Diving Championships from February 16-18. The three day meet will be held at Rutgers University. The Metropolitan Swimming Conference (METS) is one of the largest intercollegiate swimming and diving conferences in the United States. It includes NCAA division I, II, & III teams from the New York metropolitan region. This will be the school's second year competing in the meet.

    NEW ROCHELLE, NY - This weekend kicks off the beginning of the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament for women's basketball. Since 2010 the tournament has been hosted at The College of New Rochelle's Wellness Center and will be the location for the tournament again this year. Four teams from the HVIAC will qualify for the tournament.

    NYACK, NY - The College of New Rochelle women's basketball team traveled for a non-conference game with NCAA II school Mercy College on Wednesday evening. The Mavericks are the first NCAA II competition the Blue Angels saw this season. This game is in preparation for the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament this upcoming weekend hosted at the Wellness Center at The College of New Rochelle February 17 and 18. It was senior night for the Mavericks who secured the win with a final score of 83 - 56.

    NEW ROCHELLE, NY - With only four days until the conference tournament, The College of New Rochelle men's basketball team battled the Avengers of ASA in their regular season finale. The game was a strenuous affair that ended with the Blue Angels pulling out the win, 100-85.
