NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The Blue Angels faced off against the Albertus Magnus College Falcons on Thursday night, winning their sixth straight match and their 17th straight set, five of those sets keeping the other team to single digits. Behind junior Imani DeBose's (Carson, CA) season high 15 Kills on 34 attacks over the Falcons to help secure the victory. The Blue Angels also received contributions from senior Stephanie Garcia (Chino, CA) who finished with three aces and 20 digs, bringing her career dig total within 50 of 1,000 digs.
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - As The College of New Rochelle's men's basketball season gets underway, Head Coach Daniel Nigro announces new additions to his staff ahead of the 2018-2019 Season. At the Head Assistant, the Blue Angels bring in Brian Sondey, former Head Coach at NCAA II Concordia College. Sondey ran the Concordia program for eight seasons, winning 74 games, the second highest on the all time list at Concordia. When asked about the upcoming season, Sondey said, " I hope to be a big contributor in helping our program get better everyday. It will be all about getting us back to where we were last year which was an apperance in the HVIAC Championship game. If I can help the team take that final step to win the championship, it would be special." Sondey also went on to talk about the roster saying, "I am very fortunate to get to work with the returning AD3I Player of the Year, Hunter Schenkel (Sayville, N.Y.), and First Team All Conference player, Elijah Harris (Flushing, N.Y.).
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The College of New Rochelle women's basketball team looks to repeat as Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC? Tournamen Champions after coming off a historic comeback to win the title in the 2017 - 18 season. When Coach Davis was asked what the goals were for this year, he said it's the same as always, " Win our division, win the championship, and make the NCAA tournament this year." The Blue Angels have five returning players. Juniors Dar'Neisha Brice, Melissa Perez, and Ashley Martin and their seniors Aaliyah Fields and Cynthia Almonte. To join the returners, the Blue Angels welcome in eight freshmen, one walk on, and a transfer student to help bring the Angels to their second title in a row.
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The College of New Rochelle women's soccer team traveled to Brooklyn on Sunday to face off against the Medgar Evers Cougars. In dominating fashion, the Blue Angels won the game 11-0 behind hat tricks from two players.
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The Blue Angels held a Family Weekend tri-match this weekend as they battled against The King's College (N.Y.) and the Culinary Institute of America. The Blue Angels dominated both matches behind effective serving from the Angels as the team combined for a total of 38 aces in both matches.
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - After eight consecutive road games, the Blue Angel Volleyball team was back at home in front of their home crowd on Thursday night. The Blue Angels come in to this game winning back to back contests against Baruch and Brooklyn College, and extended their win streak to three against the College of Staten Island behind a season high 14 aces against the Dolphins.
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The Lady Angels traveled for their second non-conference match of the week on Thursday evening. New Rochelle was hosted by the Brooklyn College Bulldogs. The team picked up its second straight win in three sets over the Bulldogs (25-23, 25-18 and 25-16).
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The Blue Angels win streak came to an end on Wednesday as they lost 4-3 in Overtime to conference rival Berkeley College. The Blue Angels now fall to 7-3 on the year and currently are 3-1 in conference play, good enough to keep them at the top of the standings.
