Men's Cross Country Player of the Week

Jose Gordillo, Culinary

Sophomore

Gordillo was the top finisher for the Steels at the Southern Vermont Invitational, placing 19th overall with a time of 21:45 and leading Culinary to an eighth-place team finish.

Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Mark McClenahan, SUNY ESF

Freshman • Doylestown, Pa.

In his first collegiate cross country race, McClenahan led SUNY ESF to a third-place finish at the Le Moyne Short Course Invitational, placing in the top ten (ninth overall) with a time of 21:28. 

Women's Cross Country Player of the Week

Marissa Lathrop, SUNY ESF

Junior • Baldwinsville, N.Y.

Lathrop's fourth-place time of 17:17 led the Mighty Oaks to a second place overall at LeMoyne Cross Country Short Course Invitational. 

Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Erin Cocca, SUNY ESF

Freshman • East Aurora, N.Y.

Cocca finished in sixth place overall in her first collegiate race at the Le Moyne Cross Country Short Course Invitational, clocking in at 17:41.

Men's Soccer Player of the Week

Mina Girgis, Albany Pharmacy

Senior • Canyon Country, Calif.

Girgis completed a hat trick the first 11 minutes and finished with four goals and an assist in the Panthers' 6-0 season-opening victory over Southern Maine Community College.

Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Jovani Guzman, Berkeley

Freshman • Midfielder • Queens, N.Y.

In his collegiate debut, Guzman scored the game-winning goal with 4:27 remaining in regulation as Berkeley defeated Fisher 3-1 on the road in their opener.

Women's Soccer Player of the Week

Erin Tersegno, Albany Pharmacy

Junior • Forward • Webster, N.Y.

The 2016 HVIAC Player of the Year picked up where she left off last season scoring two goals with an assist in Albany Pharmacy's 4-0 triumph over Southern Maine Community College.

Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Emily D'Abrosca, Albany Pharmacy

Freshman • Defender • Cumberland, R.I.

In her first college start, D'Abrosca led the Panther defense and helped earn the shutout, 4-0 victory over Southern Maine Community College.

Honor Roll

Meshema Charles, Berkeley • Men's Soccer

Charles tallied a goal in Berkeley's 3-1 win over Fisher on Saturday.

Ashley Madaras, Culinary • Women's Cross Country

Madaras was the top finisher for the Steels in her first collegiate race, placing 22nd overall with a time of 27:35 at the Southern Vermont Invitational.
